Position Summary

Plans, manages or organizes the day to day operations of the Programming Department.  Duties and responsibilities include assisting in the implementation of policies, managing daily operations, and planning the use of materials and personnel.  Could be assigned to a functional area of management or administration such as human resources or customer service.  Develops strategies and initiatives for a functional area.  Recommends policies, methods or processes; serves as expert advisor to internal /external clients.  Implements strategies with direct impact on market / departmental / functional results.  Assists Human Resources with decisions regarding hiring, promotions, terminations, and compensation. Handles the responsibilities of the Director in his/her absence. Erroneous decisions, recommendations or failure to achieve results would normally result in major delays in assigned work resulting in considerable expenditure of additional time, human resources, and/or funds.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Managerial responsibility for day-to-day operations of the Programming department
  • Manages the daily operations of a group of associates doing the same tasks or different tasks
  • Oversee day-to-day Programming for the station
  • Brand manage the station
  • Execute SBS programming plan, style, and creative standards
  • Responsible for the creation/review of music logs for the station
  • Create/review voice tracks for on-air presentation / Live show
  • Supervise station promotions, announcers, special programming, music programming, and booking of artists on the station
  • Prepare for and host one live daily on-air show, and one voice tracked on-air show, more if needed
  • Responsible for station imaging, development, and execution
  • Interact with Music Industry and Artist Community effectively and aggressively
  • Develop and maintain contingency programming
  • Review and approve final log for program timing
  • Meet with promotional planning
  • Interface with Marketing and Sales
  • Review listener feedback and response
  • Reconcile any programming schedule changes with Program Scheduler
  • Analyze Nielsen PPM reports, with strict attention to Clock Strategy
  • Required Admin duties of Programming Payroll, DJ Remotes

  • Directs the daily operations of a on-air personalities
  • Reviews and evaluates work methods and procedures and meets with staff to identify and resolve problems
  • Assesses and monitors workload, identifies opportunities for improvement and implements changes
  • Selects, trains, motivates, and evaluates personnel; provides or coordinates staff training; works with employees to correct deficiencies; implements discipline and termination procedures
  • Ensures the ongoing training and development of direct reports

Position Summary

The Radio Producer/Talent will be responsible for producing high-quality radio content that reflects the diverse voices and stories of the SBS audience. This role involves overseeing production processes, engaging with talent, and creating compelling audio narratives that inform and entertain.

Position Summary

Radio Sidekick will support the main host in delivering engaging and entertaining radio content, contributing to lively discussions, and interacting with the audience. This role is vital in enhancing the show’s dynamics and bringing diverse perspectives to the broadcast.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist the main host during live broadcasts by providing commentary, humor, and audience engagement.
  • Participate in discussions, interviews, and segments, contributing insights and ideas.
  • Help brainstorm and develop show topics, features, and segments that resonate with the SBS audience.
  • Research relevant news, cultural topics, and trends to enhance on-air conversations.
  • Engage with listeners through social media, calls, and emails, responding to their questions and comments.
  • Facilitate contests, polls, and other interactive elements to boost audience participation.
  • Assist in preparing segments and conducting sound checks to ensure smooth show operations.
  • Work closely with producers to maintain the flow and pacing of the broadcast.
  • Help promote upcoming shows and segments through social media and other channels, building excitement and engagement.

Position Summary

On-air Talent Personality is responsible for the daily broadcasting of a radio station to which is assigned, and their work focuses on engaging the listening or viewing audience in a creative and engaging manner while maintaining FCC compliance for content.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform live broadcast show that is entertaining and informative to their audience
  • Interview personalities and guests
  • Record commercials for later broadcast.
  • Serve as a reporter as assigned, including special reports
  • Select program content, in conjunction with producers, based on factors such as program specialties, audience tastes, or requests from the public.
  • Provide commentary and conduct interviews during “Live” transmissions, and other events
  • Develop sources and story ideas
  • Make promotional appearances at public or private events in order to represent the company.
  • Participates in regular internal meetings to review new content, topics, with Executive Producer and team
  • Have an active presence on social media that engages the audience
  • Other duties as required

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar position
  • Must have engaging on-air presence.
  • Must possess impeccable diction in Spanish language, preferably fully bilingual (Spanish/English)
  • Be creative and have great story telling and writing skills in Spanish.
  • Pleasant and well-controlled voice and good timing when speaking on air.
  • Ability to interact with audience and clients in a public setting.
  • Gather news information and prepare it for on-air delivery.
  • Familiar with current events (national and international), enjoys participating in conversational debates.
  • Must be able to work well under strict deadlines and pressure.
  • Able to work long hours, including weekends and holidays, when necessary
  • Teamwork/Cooperation with positive working relationships
  • Must be creative, have a sharp wit and able to improvise and think quickly while on air.

Position Summary

Ensures that all broadcast systems in area of assignment are working properly to ensure that programs are broadcast on time and to the highest quality. Performs and completes projects including installing, configuring, and testing broadcast equipment. Maintains existing equipment and modifies as needed, be responsible for all operational aspects. Develops strategies and initiatives for a functional area. Recommends policies, methods or processes; serves as expert advisor to internal /external clients.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintains overall digital broadcasting electronic systems and related equipment for optimum transmission/broadcast performance
  • Maintains traditional radio and digital broadcasting electronic systems and equipment including but not limited to RF switchers, transmitters, transceivers, studio consoles and associated audio equipment
  • Responds to equipment outages, malfunctions, and related technical problems
  • Conducts routine diagnostic testing, preventive maintenance, repair and coordinate replacement of all equipment used for radio stations broadcasts
  • Provides technology solutions and services in the design, development, modification, implementation, and maintenance of cost-effective infrastructure
  • Document equipment maintenance, repair, and replacements
  • Makes decisions on test equipment, parts, and related tools needed for use in maintenance and repair
  • Installs, maintains, and supports desktop computer equipment for internal users as well as company-owned sites within market
  • This is a service-oriented position requiring excellent written and oral communications, personable interaction with fellow employees and organizational skills
  • Responsible for repairing or replacing broken or outdated equipment; seeks technical support from the manufacturer or sends equipment for repair as needed
  • Provides technical support to all the departments; responds to and resolves transmission issues; replaces or reconfigures decoders as needed
  • Troubleshoots and diagnoses equipment problems; restarts or reconfigures defective equipment; works with other departments as needed to ensure that issues are resolved; responds to equipment malfunctions or outages anytime they occur

Minimum Requirements

  • A minimum of 5 years radio broadcast experience is
  • An associate’s degree or greater in a technical field or equivalent experience is required
  • Knowledge of radio broadcast operations including maintenance of broadcast automation and studio equipment, transmitter site RF equipment as well as possessing strong computer/IT skills.
  • Should possess strong PC Skills, including proficiency with MS Outlook, Word, Excel & PowerPoint, Cisco Webex and similar technology driven communication platforms.
  • Advanced knowledge of computer systems and networking
  • Ability to use typical broadcast and electronics test equipment
  • Occasional night and weekend work is expected and must be on-call and available to respond 24/7
  • Must be able to work independently and as a team member
  • Must possess a valid state driver’s license and have an excellent driving record

DESIRABLE REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in broadcast engineering or related field
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish
  • FCC General Class license or SBE certification is a plus
